OUR guiding PRINCIPLES
DIVERSITY
Ecosystems with greater genetic and species diversity withstand disturbances and recover faster. We collect from multiple individuals within every population to ensure the seeds we provide contribute to that resilience, not undermine it. With biodiversity under increasing pressure, we believe every seed lot is a small but meaningful contribution to the bigger picture.
With the ongoing loss of biodiversity White Water Native Seeds hopes to make a small contribution to the continuation of greater diversity.
WHY DIVERSITY MATTERS
Plants play a key role in ecosystems. They are a source of food and medicinal compounds while also providing raw materials for many industries. Rapid deforestation and industrialization, however, threaten plant biodiversity. In turn, this threatens the ecosystem. Biodiversity of plants ensures a resource for new food crops and medicines. Plant life balances ecosystems, protects watersheds, mitigates erosion, moderates climate, and provides shelter for many animal species.
WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainable seed collecting means harvesting in ways that protect the plants we depend on, today and for future generations. We work our own orchard and trusted local sites with that in mind, never taking more than a population can spare, and always with an eye on what we're leaving behind.

WHY IT MATTERS
Sustainable practices, such as reducing pollution, protecting soil health, saving water ensures nature will survive for our grandchildren and future generations and they will have a higher quality of life and a land full of possibilities.
RESTORATION
Native plants play a crucial role in restoring lands that have been impacted by development, invasive species, and climate challenges. Whether you are replanting a hedgerow or creating a prairie, the seeds you choose are important. We aim to ensure that you start with the best options. Additionally, it’s vital for all of us to take some time for self-renewal, and nature is the perfect setting to rejuvenate our minds and bodies.

HOW TO RESTORE
Create a buffer zone
Plant a pollinator garden
Cut back on grass lawns, or eliminate entirely
Use organic pesticides
Remove invasive species
Watch the sunrise or set
Take a walk
Stroll thru a garden
Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature
